It's tough for the Australian squad to achieve unprecedented feats.

The greatest achievements have long been mastered.

We're talking about the unit that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The alternative records, targeted by the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase over 300, taking back their record for the largest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over the past 50 years.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

Ultimately, the consequence of Australia conceding 330 was skipper Alyssa Healy getting a platform to create her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the young family member of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her country failed to win either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups conducted earlier and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 World Cup win came three months after her debut and seven global championships have followed from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the successful run.

That loss "drove us to reevaluate our levels," Healy stated recently.

At the following one-day championship in New Zealand, Healy made 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She guaranteed her country would not fall short again.

Whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the argument supporting final game tension. Some might respond with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch carnage in 2022 came as she topped the run-scoring charts, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"For those following me in training, it has been a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing whatsoever," stated Healy.

"But once you take the field, your fighting spirit activate and you just lock into the match."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her great strength - and an invaluable trait in taking over from iconic ex-skipper Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's promising player Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, dismissed by the emerging pace bowler in each encounter, but here that only provided Healy's motivation.

A single came off the opening delivery and from there the batsman was on her way.

"An opportunity to take the field and engage in competition with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, kind of motivated me," said Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her swiftest at a World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three sixes.

Once she was dismissed Australia required another 66 at one run per ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it again but, if we do, we know we can achieve it."

These statements will be the ultimate thing Australia's opponents at this championship want to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107 runs despite being 76-7 at one point.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may likely be confirmed.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in an unexpected loss by South Africa - an encounter Healy was absent due to torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the initial instance at an important competition.

So strong is her resolve, she afterwards commented she regretted not playing despite the injury.

Yet even as she later admitted those physical issues have delayed consideration of ending her career, this championship is likely to be her concluding event as leader in one-day cricket and she is yet to win an international tournament as captain.

Victory in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
