Christantus Uche Sparks Straightforward Palace Triumph at Shelbourne.
Even though embarking on their first-ever continental adventure, Oliver Glasner's side are learning very quickly. Missing star players like striker Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the London club departed Dublin with a comfortable win that all but guarantees them a place in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further three points in their next match against Finland's KuPS should be enough to seal direct entry to the last 16, particularly following a prior stumble against Strasbourg.
Squad Members Grasp the Moment
This match offered a chance for some of Palace's lesser-used talent to impress. Christantus Uche, in only his second start after joining on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical goal. Forward Eddie Nketiah contributed a another, finding the net for the second game in succession.
The Shelbourne side that had concluded their domestic season proved outmatched against a mostly rotated Palace lineup. The visitors were already weakened by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with knee injuries.

Despite torrential rain in Dublin, Palace rapidly took control. A flowing move in the 11th minute, initiated by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a simple tap-in.

The contest was effectively over eight minutes from half-time. Yeremy Pino meandered past some comically weak challenges before calmly dispatching a shot past goalkeeper Wessel Speel to extend the lead to 3-0.
Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner took the chance to rest key players like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, only to see his shot blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being clasped on the line. Uche then blazed a glaring chance, showing there is still room for improvement in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This allowed 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to make his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the visiting side.
